Women’s Co-Golfer Of The Week: Justine Fournand, South Carolina

  • Went 3-0 in matches to help lead the No. 3 Gamecocks to victory at the Wolfpack Match Play (April 3-4), the team’s fifth win of the 2021-22 season, a program record
  • She won 6&5 in the quarterfinals, 6&4 in the semifinals and 6&5 in the championship match, dominating from start to finish
  • The junior transfer from FAU did not trail for a single hole in each of her three wins and was tied for just six holes out of 40 played at the event
  • The team took 12.5 out of 15 possible points in its three victories

  • Stone tied for second in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur played last week at Champions Retreat and the Augusta National Golf Club. It was Stone’s first appearance in the tournament.
  • Stone fired three rounds of even par 72 to post an even par 216.
  • Tied for the lead after 36 holes at Champions Retreat, she played in the final group of the day and four birdies in a five hole stretch, including two at Amen Corner.
  • The 20-year-old who was a 2014 Drive, Chip and Putt National Finalists, played the par 5s in 5-under for the tournament.

Women’s Co-Freshman Of The Week: Maddie May, Ole Miss

Christchurch, New Zealand

  • Earned her first collegiate top 20 finish with her 11th place result at the Auburn Tiger Individual, the highest finish of all Rebels in attendance
  • Set a new career-low round of 70 (-2) in round two of the tournament, helping her earn her new personal-best finish as a Rebel
  • Tied for a team-best five birdies at the tournament, four of which came during her second round
  • Finished with the fourth-best mark in par-5 scoring (-2) of all golfers in attendance
  • Second-best finish of all freshmen in attendance
  • Shot the best round (70) of any freshman at the tournament

Louise Rydqvist – South Carolina

Jönköping, Sweden

  • Went 3-0 in matches to help lead the No. 3 Gamecocks to victory at the Wolfpack Match Play (April 3-4), the team’s fifth win of the 2021-22 season, a program record
  • She won her opening match 5&4 in the quarterfinals vs. Notre Dame then won 3&2 in the semifinals vs. Louisville and the title bout vs. North Carolina
  • Rydqvist did not trail for a single hole in each of her three wins, and led wire-to-wire in the semis and the finals after winning the first hole in each match
  • The team took 12.5 out of 15 possible points in its three victories
